- DurrProduct description. GILBERT & SULLIVAN - MIKADO - CD gantioderorapestlatawhimbelgncidad.xyzinfo Regarded by G & S fans as the best of the all the operettas, The Mikado is given a sizzling performance by Sir Charles Mackerras, who--by leaving off the overture (which isn't by Sullivan anyway)-- manages to squeeze the piece onto one CD. He also shortens the "list" song since Gilbert's original features a prominent use of the /5(38).

- VusarThe Willow Tit and the Marsh Tit are very similar and very difficult to tell apart. Indeed, the two were only recognised as separate species at the end of the 19 th century. They both have black caps, sandy-brown upper parts and buff underparts. The Willow Tit is scruffier looking than the Marsh Tit: it has a duller cap, a large bib, a pale.
- TazuruThe Mikado is Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular opera and Tit Willow is one of the most famous tunes in it - so popular in fact, that the famous 70s children's TV show The Muppets recorded their own version! This is an arrangement for voice and piano.
- Mikagis"Tit Willow," from Gilbert and Sullivan's light opera The Mikado, tells the story of a sorrowful dicky-bird who sings "willow, tit willow, tit willow" until he plunges himself into the river flowing beneath his tree. The singer interprets the dicky-bird's action to be the result of unrequited love, and, by telling the story to his beloved, threatens to succumb to the same fate should she not.
